The ODX Instance is how you connect TimeXtender to your data storage such as SQL Server or Azure Data Lake.

If running ODX Server and TimeXtender Desktop on the same machine, use "LocalHost"

  • Add an ODX Instance


  • Enter your storage connection details
  • Enter the the IP address where the ODX Service is installed.

  • Launch & Run the Installer

TimeXtender enables you to connect to over 250+ data sources directly from our web based portal. Select your own or connect to the below sample dataset.

  • Download ODX Server


  • Enter Connection Details
  • Use optional sample data:
  1. Choose Data Source > TimeXtender SQL Data Source
  2. Enter Name and Description
  3. Enter Server: txtraining.database.windows.net
  4. Enter Database: AdventureWorks
  5. Authentication > SQL Server Authentication
  6. Enter Username: txlogin
  7. Enter Password: TimeXtenderRocks!
  8. Check the box for Trust server certificate

Map your Data Source to your ODX Instance

  • Go to Instances
  • Click: ODX
  • Scroll to Mapped Data Sources section and click: Add
  • Data Source > Adventure Works

Create the Database TimeXtender will use to store your data.

  • Launch TimeXtender Desktop
  • Double-Click ODX Instance
  • Right-Click ODX Instance
  • Edit Instance
  • Create Storage

Ingest Data from your source to ODX Storage

  • Create a Transfer Task
